J.Welles Wilder Jr. is an engineer turned technical analyst. He has formulated several technical indicators which are considered as some of the very important indicators and thus included in most of the technical analysis software.

All these indicators are elaborately written in his book 'New Concepts in Technical Trading Systems.'

Later he took up trading and began market research. Trading in silver futures was his favorite. He realized the benefit of leveraging.
His keen interest made him understand the market. He formulated many indicators like ATR, RSI, ADX and SAR. His knowledge made him a celebrity among trading magazines, radio and TV shows.
